From Black Hawk Slept Here

I am John Gorentz of Battle Creek, Michigan, the author of the Black Hawk Slept Here wiki.

This wiki isn't really a wiki in the sense that lots of people contribute. It's not that I wouldn't like feedback, though. I'm using wiki software because it's a handy way to organize and display the information.

Over the years I've met descendants of many of the people in the Black Hawk story, in person and on the internet, or other people who have good information or who correct some of my mistakes. It would be nice if I had a good way for them to post here, if they'd care to. For that matter, it would be good if I had a way for anyone at all who cared to say something about the subject to post here, perhaps blog-style. But I'm not sure yet how best to do that.

There is a blog at which I post about bicycle rides to Black Hawk sites. It's at www.spokesrider.com Much of that information will find its way into this wiki.
